The 1982 Girls Volleyball Team went for the gold and got it after defeating Palmyra for the Galaxy Conference Championship. But they didn't achieve the 1 position without a lot of hard work, and a sincere desire to win. Through the summer the girls got together at least once a week to play volleyball, and also sent eight girls to the USVBA Development camp. Then after weeks of hard practice and winning their first tew games, the Girls Athletic Association along with the Booster Club presented the girls with new uniforms. Their season ended after losing to Adams in the second round of districts. The 13-4 Record they had, was the best ever achieved by any Lourdes VB team. Girls’ Basketball Best Season Yet Freshmen - Sophomore 3rd, Place Tournament Trophy The 1982-83 Girls' Basketball team finished strong with the best season record ever. Thanks to the superior coaching job of Mr. Watton, the girls finished their season with a 13-8 record. The girls had to play many state-rated and Class C teams so they did very well considering the competi- tion. Their season ended after losing to Nemaha Valley in the second round of districts. The team is looking forward to an even better season next year as the underclassman move up to produce new and better talent on the court. The JV's finished their season with a winning record of 7-3 and in the Fresh Soph Tour- ney, the girls defeated Humboldt for a third place trophy. Congra- tulations and good luck in '84 !
