We, the Seniors of 1961, will our class picture to be hung in the hall of fame. We, the Seniors will and bequeath the great love, affection, and esteem our teachers bear for us, to the freshmen who will need such qualities. We, the Seniors of 1961, will and bequeath our various talents and abilities to the future students of LCHS. These individuals will and bequeath the following: CLEO ADAMS wills her large wardrobe to the girls of LCHS so that they will be properly dressed when they take a space ship to the moon. BETTY BYDALEK wills her disorderly desk and her wild parties to anyone who wants to carry on this tradi- tion. DONNA CHELEWSKI wills her star gazing ability to Jo Ann Kuta, and all her abilities, except going steady with Marvin, to any hopeful LCHS girl. SYLVIA COOK wills her good times to anyone who can handle them, and her fleet of jet boats and one canoe for romancing to the Sherman Dam. LARRY CUSIMANO wills his class ring to Carol, his ability to romance to Dick Porter and his ambition to be a trained Ford fender-bender to an employee of the Chevy plant. RENEE EUREK wills her beautiful looks and ability to polka to Patti Pruss and her presidency of FHA to the future FHA girls who are to go into the poultry business raising egg plants. DELPHINE FERENCE wills her job at the hospital to anyone who faints easily. KATHY FLYNN wills her cheerleading ability to Virginia Bals, her ready blush to Jack Rademacher and her blond hair to Patty Shotkoski. FRANCES GIZINSKI wills her good behavior to her brother who needs it. JIM GREGG wills his experiences in FFA classes and his ownership of an immense corn crop to the United States Government. LEONARD KASLON wills his flat hair cut to Gary Hawk and his dilapidated Ford to anyone who can find the pieces. BETTY KOWALSKI wills her small waistline to Mary Ann Toczek. If you put them together, maybe you can see at least one. LUELLA KUHL wills her cautious, quiet ways, and golden voice to Rhonda Fertig. SANDI PRUSS wills her ability to get along with the coaches in the library and her long hair to Jenny Mc- Clean. ELAINE RADEMACHER wills her new Ford to her brother, so he will not bother Larry Reiter and can have some fun of his own. MERVIN REED wills his late hours to Dave Hensley and his ability to repair his Mercury to anyone without a mechanical mind. LARRY REITER wills his car to anyone who can stand the noise and his track record to any boy fed up with earth girls and who wants to make running trips to Venus. JIM SCHERZBERG wills his architectural abilities for designing space ships to Bob Zwink, and his artistic designs of hairstyles to Yul Brynner. RON SCHERZBERG wills his cool attitude toward girls to Jim Robertson and his contagious smile and quick wit to the world's leading manufacturer of cuckoo clocks. FRANK SOKOL wills his basketball suit and height to Tom Ryan and his risque jokes to the social worker who is trying to do away with juvenile delinquency in Ashton. RICHARD SONNENFELD wills his ability to get home early to Maxine Augustyn. BETTY SPOTANSKI wills a carbon copy of her big moment to the future FHA Queen. PAT WHITEHEAD wills to anyone who wants to become old and bent before his time, his tuba; after he has carried it he will know what he means. BILL ZWINK wils his two gold medals to the United States gold reserve at Fort Knox, and his eleven minute speech on the Constitution and $14. 00 fine for speeding to Betty Lou Orr. We do solemnly swear that this is our last will and testament, resolved this fourth day of March 1961, Bill and Larry. Witness It-. asyiYis Sandi's School of Voice Instruction 503 Fritz Parkway Prussville, Missouri Dear Sandi, I must write you a letter about all our dear ole classmates back in LCHS. How nice it is to recall all our good old days and all our past experiences, but now I must go on with the more recent news. Oh, by the way, Sandi, I have now reached the grand height of six feet. After all those miserable days of five footedness and now I've finally reached my ambition. Well, enough for my troubles. You, no doubt, have heard about our former classmate, Kathy Flynn. She’s out in Holly- wood making a fabulous movie, entitled The Blush, co-starring that handsome young man, Larry Cusimano. Have you been down to the B R Dancing School in Rockville? I understand that Betty Spot- anski and Renee Eurek own the joint and are really making a go of teaching everyone how to do that well-known dance, the polka. I also hear that our Future Farmers of America are really raising cane down in Cuba. Sugar cane that is! They are busy teaching Castro the fine art of clipping cane. These cane clippers are none other than those dangerous lads, Jim Gregg and Richard Sonnenfeld. Our secretary, Elaine Rademacher, is now busy at work with the Continental Airline Com- pany in Juno, Alaska, along with the assistant manager, Larry Reiter. My, what a coincidence, both being shipped to Alaska! Our two nurses. Luella Kuhl and Delphine Ference, have joined the Waves and are busy taking care of those cute young navy men. Now, on with more news. Did you know that Frank Sokol is coaching and teaching school at Vassar. They once told him he would go far--and it seems he did. The two handsome Scherzberg brothers have both graduated from college by now. Jim has become an architect engineer in Paris, France, and Ron is head forest ranger at the Schaupps National Forest. As I recall, he did always have a green thumb. Leonard Kaslon is still situated in Loup City. He has opened his own little factory manufac- turing pool balls and cues. His assistant-manager is none other than Mervin Reed. Oh, by the way, Mervin has invested his money in the Millionaire Oil Company. I don't understand it; he never was a gambling man. Betty Kowalski has followed in her uncle's footsteps; she has just recently been recognized as the full-fledged owner of the Kowalski Feeders Supply. Bill Zwink is running for President of the United States. If he gets in. he will put all the Republican social studies teachers in for offices. Now, maybe they'll be happy! Pat Whitehead has just prepared a time vault that is to be opened in the year 2061. This vault is located on Blueberry Hill and contains momentos of the Senior Class of '61. I hear he wanted to petrify Frank Sokol and put him in it, but the City Council wouldn't let him. Sylvia Cook has now started raising black cats, which she sells on Halloween. My, she's al- ways had such interesting ambitions! Frances Gizinski is one of our luckier classmates. She struck oil in her back yard and has money to burn. Betty Bydalek and Donna Chelewski are both married to millionaires now. They spend their time trying to outdo each other at giving swank parties in their mansions in Ashton and Arcadia. Bye for now, Your old classmate, Cleo Selected O ettcfrittdwy. tHe 7f,eem- Jim Apperson Maxine Augustyn Janet Badura Mary Margaret Baillie Karla Bals Richard Baker •gw Barbara Bauhard Bob Crist Frank Eurek Loma Goff Ruth Ann Henning David Hensley Irene Jablonski Mark Janulewicz Diane Kalkowski Sharon Krolikowski Allen Kusek Judy Kuszak • i7 ° Qr' 7j Bob Markvicka Denise McCarville Jennie McClean Jim Robertson Maxine Sekutera Sheryl Sickels John Shotkoski Frank Smedra Antionette Sonnenfeld Judy Stenka Prtt ± ? The highlights of the regular season were two victories over Burwell, the Class B runner-up at the State Tournament. These wins gave the Raiders the Louplatte Tournament title and made them co-champions for regular season play. The Loup City squad was young and inex- perienced, as it included seven sophomores, but Seniors Frank Sokol, Leonard Kaslon, and Ron Scherzberg added the hustle and desire needed for a winning season. Loup City's ball club swept through the district and regional tournaments on their way to the State tourney.
