She lends a sympathetic ear and an understand- ing heart to all problems, great and small, of the students of L. C. H. S. The final score stood at 14-7. An underdog, Scotia, stunned the Raiders in the fourth game of the season. A see-saw battle during the first half left a O-0 score at halftime. In the third quarter Scotia scored twice, once on a L. C. penalty, and a second time on a 'Raider' fumble, to win 14-O. After the poor showing at Scotia, the 'Raiders' played a terrific game on the home field against their arch rival, Ord. Ord scored their first T.D. on a fourth down with a 15 yard pass. Ord scored three times in the second half, once with 2 seconds left to play. contests Ansley and Arcadia were the next victims of ICHS and they helped to bolster Loup Citv's high scoring point total Ansley fell 69 A9 while Loup City used a 2L point third quarter to tromp Arcadia 7h to Al Maior triumphs over two strong Class B clubs featured the Red Ra1d ers' next tilts A surprising 65 L7 win over Central City and a close5L to 52 triumph over Minden pushed Loup City to second in the Class C rat ings and this is where they stayed until their final game of the season The Minden game saw' two substitutes, sophomore Bob Slocum and1UHi0P D1ck Petrytus, play sparkling basketball Slocum was a steady rebound e whlle scoring elght points and Petrytus hit 15 counters In the next three games the Loup City team h1t Ravenna 62 Ll, Bur well 68 L5, and broke the jinx on Ord's court 61 to 53 to make it two victorles 1n one year over the Chants A chance for the conference championship went Ndown the drainu when a blizzard forced the Loup City Broken Bow tilt to be Lincoln and the Red Raiders were second seeded at the state meet The L C quintet knocked off Tilden with a 52 to L2 score, but the season ended only one step away from the f1nalewhen the Clarkson Red Devils broke the record for points scored 1n Class C w1th a 6A 56 victory over the f1ghting Ralders The leadlng scorer for the L C team was Ron Golus who h1t an out standing 298 points for the season The other high scorers were Melvin Piontkowski with 226 points, Bob Rademacher w1th 186, Paul Gdanitz w1th l82, and Earl Goodman with 165 Probably the steadiest shooter was Earl Coodman who scored an
