Our Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Pickrel started us on the right foot by being one ofthe best advanced sand pile teachers we ever had. Our class roll numbered 27. As this historian recalls, our class enioyecl the nap period much more than the other more difficult subiects, but don't let this mislead you, we had plenty of energy. At the end of the year we lost Gene Tlustos, Sandra Viergutz, Paul Pickrel, Jamet Edwards, Dennis Gosch, and Bill Sutton. Entering the First Grade, our somewhat depleted class roll took an upward turn with the addition of Donald Kuehn, Tom Powles, Patty York, and Sharon Thompson. All of us tried very hard to remember to bring our hand- kerchieves to school so Mrs. Funke would let Kliko the Clown out of his box. George Conley left us during our First Grade year. As we entered the Second Grade we noticed something new, not only were we in a different part of the build- ing, but we also saw some new faces. We were soon to find that these new people were Third Graders. Miss Brightenburg really had her hands Full, trying to keep tabs on 24 lively second graders and some third graders besjides. Patty York and Kathie Doroughty moved away during the year, leaving only 22 to move on to the third gra e. Although there were only 22 of us left, the school decided we were still too ornery for one teacher, so they divided us between Mrs. Hahn and Mrs. Ross. We were very happy when Janice Siemsen ioined our class, but we were sorry to lose Terry Janusz and Ronnie Williams. ' The Fourth Grade year found us with Miss Niday. This was a great year for us, Terry Janusz returned, and we also added Janelle Heard, Ken Henson and Mary Young, but Mary Young soon left and Donald Kuehn and Alyce Procter also moved away. The pleasure of teaching our Fifth Grade class fell to Mrs. Hay. With the addition of Mary Hannah, Dave Albert, Kathryn Gerdes, and Gladys Cardin, we numbered 26. At the end of the year we lost Georgene Shuman, Tom Powles and Larry Read. Our Sixth Grade year saw the addition of Janet Heard, Bill Sutton, and Wayne Shannon. During the year Wayne Shannon, Gladys Cardin and Mary Hannah moved away. Mrs. Haney, our Sixth Grade teacher is our only former teacher still on the grade school faculty. The addition of Ronnie Goering and Carolyn Stohlmann in the beginning of our Seventh Grade year brought a total of 25 into Mrs. Vice 's class. David Albert left for Plattsmouth at the end of the year. Looking forward to graduation we were perfect angels and our Eighth Grade teacher, Miss Baker, had very little trouble with us. We added Gary Reed and Roseann Mass to our ranks. During the year we managed to produce an operetta, The Saga of Petticoatsville. And so with heavy hearts, we bade farewell to Grade School and moved onward and upward to High School. As we entered high school our class roll was raised to 35 with the addition of Cheryl Baker, George Conley, Oran Satterfield, Diane Stander, David Stohlmann, Stephen Stohlmann, Gene Tlustos, and Raymond Groves. We thoroughly enioyed being green little Freshmen, and we also enjoyed being oriented to high school life in Orientation class. We were sorry to lose Lynda McKinstry, Gary Reed, and Raymond Groves during the year, and Oran Satterfield at the end of the year. Our Sophomore year was highlighted by the basketball team winning the State Championship. Terry Janusz was the sole member of our class to be on the championship team. Linda Woolhiser, Lois Fleck, and Judy Heil left us, lowering our number to only 28. James Bruning decided to ioin us in our quest for knowledge as we began our Junior year. During this busy year we purchased our class rings, produced a very successful play entitled Beauty and the Beef and treated the Seniors to the best Prom in the history of L.H.S. The theme of the Prom was Southern Plantation. By the end of the year we had lost five more classmates, James Bruning, Roseann Mass, Ronnie Goering, Judy Habel, and Kathryn Gerdes. At last! l ll The end is in sight! l ll Our Class got into the full swing of Senior activities. Charley's Aunt was the play selected for presen- tation. The Juniors treated us to fine Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom and we had a steak supper and very fine breakfast of our own. We also snuk off to Kansas City, Missouri for a day. Janelle Heard left us shortly after the start of the year, and Barbara Rowlett ioined us for the second semester. Thirteen members of the Kindergarten class of '49 are graduating with us in '61, but of these only nine have been with us throughout all of our school years at Louisville. We can fondly look back on our school years and it will be with a little tug at our hearts that we say good- bye to our friends and classmates, who have made our learning a rewarding experience. 66444 7065! Class of I96l 6444 Pzapiecq This is your ace reporter, reporting from Louisville on a balmy May day in 1981. We are here forthe ban- quet honoring the graduating class of l96l, sponsored by the Louisville High School under the able direction of Superintendent Miss Judy Kay Robbins, with the assistance of Miss Diane Stander, the English teacher. As I look through the door, I see that the First guests have arrived. There is Bill Sutton, president of the Teamsters' Union, and Mugs Gerdes his bodyguard, They are followed by Bill's wife, the former Cheryl Baker, wearing her mink coat. The mink was raised on the George Conley Mink Farm. Looking out of the window, I see Janet Heard driving up in the only taxi in town, a red and white Ford. Alighting from the car are Dr. Susan Worthman, Professors Meisinger and Christiansen, who are teachers at the University of Nebraska. Here comes our most Famed professor of them all, Dr. Kay Albert, who is teaching home economics at Harvard University. As we are waiting For the other guests to arrive, we have learned that two of our classmates will not be pre- sent. Our Famous missionary, John Davis, ended up in hot water in Africa. James Hendrix will not be present either, he was making money, but the government disapproved. Suddenly I hear many cheers. Looking around I see what all the cheers are about. I Find our home town movie star, Terry Janusz, making a secret entrance. His last movie in which he played the title role, was The Return of the Creature. The cheers are louder now, and I see the tamed dancers, Janice Siemsen and Barbara Rowlett, and their boss Steve Stohlmann, who owns the Famed Cedar Creek Night Club, entering the gym. I hear some easy moving words being said, so I know Ken Henson, president of the Missouri Migratory Association, is among us. He is talking to the president of Coon Dogs', Incorporated, Gene Tlustos. Here enters our famed Marine, Dave Stohlmann. He has just returned from six years K.P. duty over seas. Anita Little, famed woman wrestler accompanies him. That famed architect of Doll House, Incorporated, Jack Welch, has just entered the gym. He is followed by Carolyn Stohlmann, who has just completed her new novel, I was a Teenage Girl at Seventeen. This is the complete class of I96l, excluding John and James. I see that the banquet is about to be served, so l'm signing oft until next year. ammeaoemewl ag f?, 1967 James, Barbara, Stephen, Diane, Gene Janice, John, Cheryl, Kenneth, Anira.
