LEADABRAND, GREENWOOD, NEBRASKA M. M. AND NEW HOLLAND DEALER -36- enior elaoo iotory In the fall of 1946, fourteen sweet, little cherubins trudged slowly and reluctantly up the big school house hill to begin their journey through the halls of learning. Even then we began to make historyg we were the first Kindergarten class in Louisville School. Mrs. Fleichman helped us through the first year without much trouble. She even had enough courage to stay the next year. Meanwhile, we reinforced our ranks to seventeen with the addition of Bill Counish, Jim Hoover, Ray Albert, and Jack Shrader and we lost Patsy Jones. Sharon Isaac and Louise Weimore were added and Gary Fleichman left in the Second Grade. Mrs. Brunson was our teacher. The third grade found the little angles divided between Miss Brightenburg and Mrs. Vandel. With the addition of Dan Stiffler, Gary Reed, Patsy Jones and Nathan Mat this has become quite a strong class. In the fourth grade we were again united with Miss Hahn as our teacher. Pauline Workman joined us and Gary Reed left. We took our one and only field trip to Nebraska City in the fifth grade. Mrs. Kellogg was the brave teacher. Louise Weimore and Patsy Jones left this year. The sixth grade was split again to keep us under control and Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Hay were the lucky teachers who tried to pound some knowledge into our skulls. In the seventh grade Ron Hutchison, Pork Robbins, Butch Brown, Dan Stiffler and Errol Meis- inger helped to win the Cass County Grade School Basketball Tournament. Also to make the year more exciting Errol Meisinger graced us with his presence. Our teacher was Mrs. Haney. Finally we were ready to close the book on our grade school years. We had approached the turning point of our lives, our eighth grade graduation. This was an exciting year for us. Once when the teacher, Mrs. Reed, didn't show up for school we got terribly bored with each other and decided to make it a day to remember. We went home. But at last we made it, and all decked out in our best finery, we walked across the stage to receive our little diplomas and begin our journey through high school. Our Freshman roll was raised to twenty-eight by adding Nancy Gauer, Glenda Love, Marilyn Ossenkop, Frank Puls,Don Vogler,Alan Luttig, Gay Conley, Alan Ragoss, David Bentley, Leonard Bentley, Virginia Miller and Roxanne McGill, We all enjoyed being green little Freshmen though we didn't get initiated. We even managed to put on a one act play and give a very successful party. Our Sophomore year started off with a crash. We were all taking drivers education, but survived with few mishaps and even managed to learn to drive. There were eleven of us chosen as waiters and wait- resses for the Junior-Senior Banquet. They were Sharon Isaac, Jody McKinstry, Sharon True, Julie John- son, Pauline Workman, Ronald Lutlig, Hon Hutchison, Pork Robbins, Larry Luken, Errol Meisinger and Flower Girl Nancy Gauer. We also gave the juniors a party that year which turned out very well. At the close of our Sophomore year we lost Alan Bagoss, Gay Conlay, and Ron Luttig. At last we were upper classmen, almighty Juniors. We put on a wonderful Junior class play, The Magic Touch under the direction of Mrs. Bogard. We bought our class rings, put on a Junior-Senior Ban- quet and Prom with the gym decorated in blue, silver, and pink, to carry out our theme Rendevous of the Stars. ' Eleven of us went. to Plattsmouth for County Government Day with our sponsor Mr. Lee. This year we gained Mona Reed,Dixie Baker, and Sidney Spears, only to lose Dixie and Sidney, along with Jody McKinstry, and David Bentley. Our second semester we added Jack Shrader. The senior year started off with the loss of Glenda Love. This year we had our pictures taken, pub- lished the Annual with Mrs. 'Mulnix our faculty adviser, put out the school paper, even went on our first field trip to Lincoln. We also put on a class play Arsenic and Old Lace with Mrs. Leadabrand our di- rector. The second semester found Mona Heed dropped from our class roll. The big event of our senior year was Louisville High School winning the Class C State Basketball Championship, because five of our senior boys were on that team, namely Dan Stiffler, i'Pork Robbins, Butch Brown, Don Vogler, and Frank Puls. This was the first time that Louisville had won in a State -37- Tournament. Another big event for us was Sneak Day which found us in Des Moines where we went through Look Publishing House and Drake University with our sponsor Mr. Gell and Superintendent Mr. Welch. The Senior Mothers treated us and the faculty to a very sumptuous breakfast at the Methodist Church. The Juniors were hosts to a very lovely banquet, prepared by their Mothers. They used Hawaiian Cruise as their Theme. As we think back we note that we were the first kindergarten class, first class to go a full four years through the new building, first class not to have an initiation. We also notice that Mrs. Har1eyiStl16 only grade school teacher that still had nerve to teach in Louisville after she taught us. Now as we graduate we look back with fond memories of our school years. With nine members grad- uating, who started together 13 long years ago, We hope all the classes that follow have as good a time as we have had. enior Qlaooqoill We, the Senior Class of Nineteen Hundred Fifty-nine, of Louisville High School, Louisville, Nebraska, do make, publish, and declare this, our last will and testament. In testimony whereof we have set our hands to this our Last Will and Testament at Louisville, Nebras- ka, this twenty-second day of May, in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred Fifty-nine. Signed, The Seniors of 1959 enior elcwo cprophecy It is the year 1979. Being the Ace Reporter of the paper The Journal, I have been assigned to cover the all important reunion of the Class of 1959 at Louisville High. As I enter the doors of dear old LHS, I am greeted by many old and famous friends. First, l look up the class President, that famous missionary, Errol Meisinger. Errol had quite a difficult time shaking hands as one of his cannibal friends in Africa got a wee bit hungry and forgot he had been converted but he still had his elbow left. Next I see the head of Mayo-Clinic, Nanci Gauer talking with that heart throb of the bobby sox set, Frank Puls. Frank has just made his 100th gold record and Nanci has just received her gold plated hypo-needle for her 1,000-th patient. Here comes Roxie McGill and Ray Albert talking shop. It seems one of Piay's purple ribbon baby beeves, has a case of the sniffles and he is trying to get some free advice from his Vet, but Roxie will send him a bill anyway. Sharon True and Jack Shrader seem to have quite a bit in common. Sharon is one of the very best air line stewardesses and Jack seems to be making quite a career for himself as a paratrooper. Both are talking about the narrow escapes they have had in airplanes. There are two people who don't seem to be able to get away from Louisville School. Emmett fButchl Brown is one of the greatest coaches old L. H. S. has ever had. His boys have been State Champions for five years straight. Sylvia Saltmarsh is principal of Grade School and seems to enjoy teaching the future citizens of Louisville. Orval QPorkJ Robbins and Sharon Isaac have just returned from Washington D. C. where Pork won his case before the Supreme Court. He is such a great lawyer that his secretary Sharon has to fight off his clients with a bull whip. There is talk that Pork might be candidate for President and of course he will want his faithful secretary, Sharon, to be Vice President. Pauline QKateJ Workman has just returned from Atlantic City where she was picked Mrs. America. She is the best housewife around, and she is now in competition for the Mrs. Universe contest. There is no doubt in my mind that she will win. Larry Lulcen and John Kahland have just made their 2nd million. They are in partnership of a big brewery company. Larry does the bookkeeping and truck driving while John takes care of the distilling process. They said when they make their fourth million, they will retire and sell their business to Jim Hoover for junk. julie Johnson is sporting a very nice suntan. She is working in Texas as a speech therapist and in her spare time she takes sun baths. Don Vogler, Ronnie Hutchison and Dan Stiffler have just returned from a meeting in the Pentagon where they were discussing the latest developments in modern warfare. It seems the white house can't get along without these three brilliant scientists. Virginia Miller is discussing the problems of juvenile delinquents with Leonard Bentley who is chief of police in Las Vegas. Virginia has managed to become the best psychiatrist in the U. S. She has saved many suicides, while Leonard has helped stop crime waves in the roughest towns in Nevada. ,Io Anne Habel is now working in the World Herald office taking over Mary Lane's Column. Marilyn Ossenkop the last, but not least, of the class has just returned from Russia, where she is showing people how the average American girl dresses. Well, I have finished the Class of 1959 reunion, and as you can see, all turned out very well. In fact, I think it is the best class to graduate from L. H. S. elcwoeo Yes, Freshmen do study - Math 5.
