Librarian The librarian, Mr. Malcolm Parker (pictured to the right), of LSU-S is responsible for the selection, acquisition, and cataloging of all books, periodicals, and other library materials. Following procedures established by the Dean, he cooperates with the faculty of the various academic divisions in securing library materials to meet courses and curricula needs as well as individual needs of the student body and faculty. He is responsible for planning an adequate circulation program and maintaining such hours as meet student and faculty needs. He also maintains and operates the audio listening room. Registrar The responsibilities of the registrar, Mrs. Fabia Thomas (pictured to the left), include evaluating the applications of students and certifying their admission to LSU-S, planning and carrying out the registration of students, assessing all fees, maintaining all student records and making them available to other officers of the University on request, making periodic reports of academic progress to students, parents, and campus officers concerned, compiling and maintaining information and data useful for university reports, maintaining class schedules and current records of assignment of academic space. The registrar also maintains a file of courses and curricula changes on the main campus, and assists the Dean in the preparation of the annual catalog for LSU-S. 23

There are courses available which explain the basic principles and applications of mechanics, heat, sound, light, electricity and magnetism, and modern physics as well as those offering more advanced study. Chemistry Our modern labs, up-to-date facilities, and conscientious instructors make the chemistry department the efficient educational unit it is.
