EEG TECH NCJLUGY The program in EEG prepares today's students to be tomorrow's highly skilled professionals. Upon certification these young men and women are qualified to work alone or be part of a team. They will record EEG's in the lCU's, the Neonatal nurseries and the laboratory. It will be their responsibility to aid in the overall diagnostic picture for each patient. THERAPY RESPIRATORY The respiratory therapist provides a vital link between the physician and the patient with cardiopulmonary disease or disability. With a firm background in the medical sciences, the respiratory therapist is prepared to exercise judgment and accept great responsibility in performance of diagnos- tic and therapeutic procedures. MEDICAL TECHNGLCJGY The role of the medical technologist as an allied health professional is to develop laboratory data used in the detec- tion, diagnosis, and treatment of many diseases. Multiple complex laboratory analyses are performed on blood and other body fluids using precision instruments such as microscopes, autoanalyzers, radio-isotope detectors and various types of photometers. The med. tech. has in depth knowledge in the 4 major areas of the clinical laboratory- hematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry and immuno- hematology. ln accepting the responsibilities of this profes- sion, the med. tech. must recognize the interdependency of the analytical tests performed in each area and must be able to make interpretive judgments that influence the diagnosis and X or treatment of patients.
