The field is best known forthe Pap Test which is the microscopic evaluation of cells from the uterus of the female genital tract. However, cells from any surface within the body can be evaluated for cancer. The main purpose of the field is to find cancer cells at an early, curable stage. -. David A. Jenkins Susan D. A knowledge of growth and development, medical, physical and psychosocial conditions and life tasks and activities along with problem solving skills are utilized to facilitate adaptation for optimal functioning. OT services include, but are not limited to: activities of daily living, design and fabri- cation of splints, sensorimotoractivities, selection and train- ing in the use of adaptive equipment, therapeutic activities and consultation -on the adaptation of physical environ- ments for the disabled.
