STATE FAIR Preceding the traditional Northwestern-Tech foot¬ ball game this year, Tech’s campus activities included holding pep rallies, observing “Red and Blue Day” and “Tag Day,” and electing a queen and court. The queen and her court were chosen by popular vote in a student body election. After arriving in Shreveport for this State Fair classic, Tech supporters participated in a parade, pep rally, luncheon for representatives of each college, and a coffee for alumni. Betty Hendershot, State Fair queen, comes across the football field. Gail Gleason. “Tech Drills for Victory ’ second place float in homecoming parade, entered by Wesley Foundation. HOMECOMING Tech homecoming was celebrated with a well-round¬ ed program of activities which included a morning coffee for alumni in Adams parlor, the traditional pa¬ rade through down-town Ruston with nineteen organi¬ zations participating, the Tech-Southeastern football game, a business meeting and barbecue for alumni, the fraternity and sorority open houses, and a dance in Memorial gymnasium featuring Hal McIntyre and his orchestra. The homecoming queen and her court, chosen by the “T” Club, were presented at the game. Gail Gleason , homecoming maid Alpha Chi Omega sorority entered the third place float in home¬ coming parade. Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity float takes first place
