ARTS AND SCIENCES The facilities of Keeny Hall, the Music, Dramatic Arts and Chemistry Buildings and Lomax Hall are used by the school to in¬ struct students in its variety of subjects. The newest and fastest developing of these fields are philosophy, geography and radio technique. Two classmates and Miss Elizabeth Bethea, professor of art, examine the work done in a fresh¬ man course for education students. Marshall Bretz, associate professor, in¬ structs a music major at the organ. Each year the work of sev¬ eral departments is made pub¬ lic through Tech Theater and radio productions, recitals, and regular art exhibits. 27

Tech ' s first graduate received his degree in 1897 from the Depart¬ ment of Commerce which has pro¬ gressed steadily through the years and in 1941 became the School of Business Administration and Eco¬ nomics. 28
