Margaret Ann Sentell Ed Stout Don Hathaway Ann Reese asketball The Louisiana Tech basketball team ended up the 1946-47 season in a three- way tie for the Louisiana Intercollegiate conference championship with North¬ western State college and Southwest¬ ern Louisiana Institute. The Bulldog cagers lost but one L. I. C. game and that was to Southwestern. Defeated by Tech, the Demon squad bested the S.L.I. team 60 to 54 to drop that group from the unbeaten list. Had S.L.I. won the game they would have been declared champs. Tech kept the L.I.C. trophy that was awarded the previous year and will hold it until such a time that she loses the L.I.C. championship. For placing in the three-way tie, each team received a plaque declaring them as co-champions of the conference. The team met some tough customers dur¬ ing the playing periods but usually managed to keep on top. Coach Cecil Crowley worked the boys into top con¬ dition for the seasonal games and pros¬ pects for the following season are ex¬ cellent.
