LAG IN IIA IP IP IE President iEORGE W. Bond To The Students of Louisiana Tech When in future years you read the pages of this chapter in the history of our beloved Louisiana Polytechnic Insti¬ tute, whe ' .her your life has been blessed with material wealth and comforts or mis¬ fortune has brought sorrows and dissatisfaction, I would remind you that true worth is neither measured by pennies and pounds nor by that which one may be called upon to suffer, but rather by the amount of service one renders to society in the advance¬ ment of civilization. Many memories of campus joys will scon pass away and the ties of college friendships grow slack; but those elements of character, conceptions of progressive citizenship, habits cf personal conduct, and ideals of right living formed during your stay on the campus will remain and will determine largely not only the success of your own life, but that of your Alma Mater, as well.
