E. Keeny has, without a doubt, done more for the Louisiana Polytechnic Institute than any other person, having successfully guided the school through 17 years of progress. With him “business is business”—and school work is decidedly business. True to the school aim “to make the thinker a worker and the worker a thinker,” he allows no shirking of responsibilities. No student enters his office door who does not come out a better worker or a clearer thinker. Even as he thinks and works—and knows how to think and work—he plays, and knows how to play. Fishing is his favorite sport, and he is widely recognized as an adept angler. Might as well ask if a nautilus fits his shell as to question his fitness for his position. He has made the place, and none other could fill it. Long live J. E.
