DEDICATION After thirty years at L.H.S., Mr. Ed Blais retired at the end of the 1987 school year. Blais was raised and graduated from high school in New London, Connecticut. He started college at the Norwich Institute in Vermont. Then he transferred to the University of Connecticut, where he played college football. After serving in the Air Force for four years, he attended Central Missouri State U. and received his bachelor and masters degree of science and education. While at L.H.S. he coached girls’ basketball, he was the assistant boys’ basketball coach, assistant track coach, and assistant football coach from 1957-1968. He was also athletic director his last three years. Blais has also sponsored the “L” club, and for his last twenty years at L.H.S. he sponsored classes with Mrs. Jane Henry. Mr. Blais has given many things to this school. We hope the years to come reward him well. Mr. Blais with Coach Cunningham on the practice field.
