Chuck Graham, Christy Hart, John Meyer, and Elise Ludwig took part in the Quiz Bowl. The snack bar is certainly a welcome innovation. It gives students a choice of food. Now, in addition to school lunches or lunches brought from home, we can enjoy sandwiches, potato chips, cupcakes, fruit pies, ice cream, and drinks. It really helps out on those days when someone forgets lunch, and doesn’t have a great deal of money to spend. Some athletic types have been seen consuming not only their school lunch, but also a large quantity of snacks. Another innovation, academic rather than food-oriented, was the Quiz Bowl, filmed for t.v. in St. Louis. Four top students, escorted by Mrs. Giltner and Mr. Klemeir competed in two games. The competitors were Chuck Graham, Christy Hart, John Meyer, and Elise Ludwig. Our team won the first game against Chester H.S., from Chester, 111. The second round against Pattonville H.S. was lost. These four students did a super job of representing our school. 29
