Cruising Through ’82 We chose the title and theme of our yearbook, “Cruising Through ’82” for a number of reasons. First, “cruising” is a popular pastime, which to the uninitiated means to drive slowly up and down the streets, especially Georgia Street carefully observing what is happening, and hoping to meet interesting people, or just to see our old friends. Next, cruising through this year is what a lot of people have done, especially those afflicted with “senioritis.” But cruising through the year doesn’t mean we haven’t met any obstacles in our path. Just as there are potholes in the road, there are traps we can fall into in our lives. Just as we must pay attention to road signs along the way, we must observe signals that point our way through life. And just as we must be alert and on the watch for possible dangers on the road, we must be equally alert passing our way through life. In cruising through 1982, we hope that we have done our best to make our way skillfully and carefully through this year of school, and have some fun doing it. 2
