 1977 was a season to remember. The great accomplishments , trophies, new badges for letter-jackets , and the exhilaration of being winners helped make it unforgettable. The team had special talent with a strong desire to win. The fans were instilled with a strong sense of unity and pride. On the day of the final play-offs, excitement reigned at LHS. The whole building echoed with 11 Go Big Red11 and spirit contests. And the football guys ? Well, they yelled the loudest. Were they nervous about the upcoming game ? If they were, they did not show it.

It's dark except for the floodlights shining on the field. The parking lot is full. The bleachers are packed. A roar of voices rises from the stands as maroon and white figures charge onto the field. The loudspeakers blare. Then ... the kickoff. The action begins. First down and the crowd cheers. Struggles at the 50 yard-line, at the 30 yard-line. A combined effort brings a touchdown. Half-time. The players get a rest. The coach gives a pep talk, plans strategy, commands plays. Spectators flock to the refreshment stand. The band weaves it's way across the field and marches into a giant formation of LHS. The players are back on the field. Struggles and touchdowns later, the Bulldogs celebrate a victory.
