October 12—October 16 HOMECOMING 1970 Homecoming is a week of planning, working, anticipating, and heartbreak. It is a time for all the classes to get together to support our Bulldogs in the big game. Spirit Week creates a formulation of activities that brings class competition to its highest fever of the year. To encourage student participation, Pep Club and Student Council promote several exciting activities, like those unforgettable class skits and the parades. Homecoming means something special to everyone at LHS. To the seniors, it is one highlight of four great years of growing up, an event always looked forward to and never forgotten. To the underclassmen it is a reminder of how quickly their few short years in high school are passing. Even as the week goes by, time seems to make events pass too quickly for us to reember everything. When the band plays the last song and Homecoming is over, it leaves behind more than an empty feeling. It draws out a longing to live that week over, to cherish living life to its fullest, squeezing out every ounce of pleasure, and to think with a shrug of the shoulders, Yeah, Homecoming sure was great this year.
