This year, the Louisiana High School Annual is being carefully planned to provide a better yearbook. The Alamo Staff has been taking its time to insure a good yearbook. Time and exactness was the major factor in the annual's planning. The sole purpose of the Alamo Staff is to present a book of events, people, and happenings that have taken place during the school year. 62 Kitty Jeffries, Dennis Griffith, Kerwin Rohr and Grant Hemphill. Student Council Once again the year was started off with a bang by an all-school party. The Council sold A.F.S. Christmas cards as an activity to raise money for A.F.S. The Homecoming Parade, Coronation, and Dance were sponsored by the Council. The Council sent delegates to the M.A.S.C. Convention at Jefferson City,- also, delegates to the M.A.S.C. Summer Workshop in Columbia and a delegate to the National Workshop at Camp Cheley, Colorado. The council staged a skit at the last of school to depict its various activities during the 1964-65 school year which were used to promote school spirit and as a service to the school. Again, with the help of Mrs. Morrow, the Council had a very busy and profitable year. French Club Under the supervision of Miss Wendy Hansen, the industrious French Club learned the major principles of French and of the French people as well as of France. They had meetings during various nights of the week to show slides of France and to learn other history and information of France and its people. The French Club was not all work. The club had several gatherings including an International Party. The French Club members were to invite guests to this party and were required to dress in the costumes of their chosen nation or country. The party turned out many serious costumes as well as many comical ones. Refreshments were served at the meetings and gatherings. The French Club of 1964-1965 proved to be a rewarding experience. Miss Hansen, French teacher, went to France along with several others including some of her French students during the summer vacation. 66 FRENCH CLUB OFFICERS: FIRST ROW: Barbara Bopp, Historian; Sheila Cunningham, Vice-president; Nancy Oliver, President; Eliza- beth Glenn, Songleader; Donna Parsons, Secretary; Jim Word, Treasurer; and Miss Wendy Hansen, Sponsor. 67 Publications Class: Linda Narramore, Kay Douse, Bren- Melvin Griffith, Sponsor, Kerwin Rohr, Ed Bass, Albert da Gierke, Judi Huff, Ann Arnold, Carolyn Griffith, Travis, John Weeks, Ed Craft, and Dennis Goodman. Under the guidance of Mrs. Melvin Griffith, the class produced nearly forty editions of the Highlights, the Louisiana High School paper. Being offered for the first year, the publications class was very successful and this class is sure to continue if enough enroll in the class. This year's class of fifteen was comprised mostly of seniors. Each week the class sponsor, Mrs. Griffith, chose a student to be editor of the paper each week. The Student was to make a list of the events that might occur that week and assign it to the remaining students. Chapter included meetings twice a month and three summer meetings, trips to the state and national F.F.A. Convention, state and district judging contests, the annual Parent-Son Banquet. Larry Lamberson received the Degree of State Farmer at the University of Missouri in April. He was one out of 243 in the state to receive the Degree from a total membership in the state of 12,600. The F. F. A. is one of the most active organizations in our high school. Total membership in the chapter should increase because of the new Vocational Program to be introduced during the 1965-66 school year. 72 FHA Members (officers): Miss Joan Galbraith, sponsor; and from left to right are Kathy Harvey, Glenda Dixon, Barbara Dewey, Janis Hampton, and Wanda Woods; and Carolyn Painter of row two. The squad was led this year by Mary Bokar, president; Shirley Gillett, vice-president; Ruth Stinson, treasurer; and Georgia Perkins, secretary. Pep squad sponsor was Miss Joan Galbraith. The squad kept the previously chosen uniforms of red skirts, white blouses and white sweaters. Our pep squad increased in the number of screaming, cheering members; each trying to outyell the other in leading our boys on to victory.
