Seniors In the fall of 1959, the class of '63 started the first of four busy years in L.H.S. Jan Thomas was elected president; John Casteel, vice-president; Jean Ann Shields, secretary; and Margy Henderson, treasurer. We were unusually active in the school organizations for freshmen. Our sophomore year we elected Karen Millner, president; Marilyn Johns, vice-president; and Diane Price, secretary-treasurer. Five were among the twelve original members of the National Honor Society, seven boys earned varsity letters, and all of us backed our classmates in the student council elections. As juniors, we chose Marilyn Knaus to be our president; Dick Marcellus, vice-president; Karen Millner, secretary; and Diane Price, treasurer. Through various projects such as the fruit cake sale, pizza and short orders at the tournament, and several parties, we raised money to have a very original and successful Junior-Senior Prom and Banquet. Our theme was an underwater fantasy, complete with fish murals, treasure chest, and a huge sea shell surrounding the band. As seniors we have the honor to be the first class to graduate from the new high school. We elected Bill Leverington, president; Bill Bass, vice-president; and Margaret Mosley, secretary-treasurer. Our class contained officers of many clubs and chairmen of many school projects. Our play, LOST HORIZONS , was very successful. We wish to extend our sincere gratitude to our sponsors, Mrs. Margaret Schaper, Mr. Aaron Hemphill, and Mr. Thomas Niemeyer for their assistance and encouragement throughout our high school years. Also, to the teachers and administrators, thank you. LEFT TO RIGHT: Bill Leverington, vice-president; Margaret Mosley, secretary-treasurer; Bill Bass, president.
