Steve Foland was Student Council Vice President. Paul Smith attended All-State Band. Morris Patrick, Roger Gunning, Larry Patrick, Joe Wells, and Ray Kirgbaum were chosen to attend Boys' State. Judy Glenn attended Girls' State. Roger Gunning and Judy Glenn edited the Highlights and Ray Krigbaum and Vallie Davis were co-assistant editors of the Alamo. Class sponsors were Miss Eva Hosman, Mrs. Betty Artus, and Mr. Robert Smith. Senior class officers were: President, Ray Krigbaum; Vice President, Roger Gunning; Secretary, Marilyn Miller; Treasurer, Sis Taliaferro. Judy Glenn was Student Council representative. Homecoming Queen was Kathy Woods, crowned by football co-captains, Larry Patrick and Don Lewis. Her attendants were Sandra Rule escorted by Joe Wells and Charlotte Woods escorted by Steve Foland. F.F.A. Barnwarming Queen was Judy Glenn escorted by Morris Patrick and Karen Kelly was the Senior attendant escorted by Herb Griffith. There were 13 senior boys out for football, 8 for basketball, and 9 for track. Morris Patrick and Gerald Beer were named to First All-Conference Basketball Team. Don Lewis and Larry Patrick were named to the Second All-Conference Football Team. The senior class track boys led the way in breaking almost all previous school records. New records were set in the high hurdles, low hurdles, mile relay, two mile relay, 880, high jump, discus, and pole vault. The senior cheerleaders Sis Taliaferro, Gayle Collier, Barbara Thomas, and Jo Ann Ulry. The senior class presented a very successful class play, The Night of January 16. The seniors greatly appreciated the help of Mrs. Bennat Mullen who directed the play. Ray Krigbaum was in charge of the yearbook. Morris Patrick served as student council president. Sissy Taliaferro was student council secretary. Sandra Rule and Bill Davidson were Mardi Gras King and Queen. The senior attendant was Barbara Thomas. Louise Hobkirk was Queen and Roger Gunning was King of the Junior-Senior Prom. The class ended the year with a short trip to Rockaway Beach. The soponsors for the trip were Mrs. Betty Artus, Mr. Ed Blais, and Mr. Bennat C. Mullen. Baccalaureate speaker was the Rev. Cecil P. Logan and Dr. Charles McClain of the University of Missouri was the Commencement speaker. Sponsors for the year were Mrs. Betty Artus, Mr. Ed Blais, Mr. Bob Smith, and Mr. Bennat Mullen. 23
