Cox in his second year at I... ll. S. , used the Split-T formation along with some fine spread plays. The Bulldogs played the season with four returning lettermen from last season, namely, David Hunter, George Wagner, .l1mmy'l'ledges, and Ray Bliss. Not by the number of games won and lost, but by fight and spirit shown, are grid teams judged by those who know the game. Too often the real purpose of the game is subverted, and victory satisfies inore fullythan square playing and hard fighting against odds. The teaxn won the Palmyra Key Club Sportsmanship Trophy. The V355 Bulldogs boasted no invincible inaehine, but they sturdily and worthily upheld the traditions ofthe Red and White. No groaind was yielded ,incontestedg no gauze was surrendered until the final whistle ended the struggle. Only better football ever forced the Bulldogs back.
