As the stars of the L. H. S. Story, 1952, we began our screen careers as the sixty-four members of the supporting cast of the L. H, S. Story, 1949. We elected Peter Donath, president; Helen Halliburton, vice-president; Darlene Pollard, secretary-treasurer; and Opal Armbruster, student council representative. Mr. Fred Rynearson and Mr. Wirt Fowler were our technical advisors and gave us much guidance in our rise to understudies. Our glamorous and popular member, Helen Halliburton, had the honor of being our freshman attendant to the 1948 Homecoming Queen. She was also freshman attendant to the Bamwarming Queen. As the supporting cast, we were very active in football, basketball, pep squad, band, and glee Club. • We returned in the fall of 1949 as the fifty-four understudies in that year's production. We elected Eddie Holliday, president; Myron Griffith, vice-president; Joyce May, secretary-treasurer; and Darlene Pollard, student council representative, to guide us through our year. Our technical advisors this year were Mr. William Ellis and Mrs. H. R. Bums, Jr. This was the year when we were Quint City Conference Champs and twelve of our boys helped us win that title. Nine boys were out for basketball. Five understudies were admitted to the L Club. They were: Charlie Clark, Francis Craig, Jack Sencenbaugh, Tommy Goodwin, and Finis Corum. We had four members in the pep squad, eleven in glee club, and seven in the band. Our sophomore attendant to the Homecoming Queen was Joyce May, escorted by Myron Griffith. Eva Harriman was the Barnwarming attendant. Our Outstanding Sophomore was Lois Jean Suddarth. 1950-1951 saw fifty-four of us as Tomorrow's Stars. We began an adventurous year of preparation for stardom. This year we elected Gene Reid, president; Charlie Callison, vice-president; W. C. Prewitt, secretary-treasurer; and Joyce May, student council representative. Our technical advisors this year were Mrs. Claude Smallwood and Mrs. Helen Hildebrand. Popular Mary Burns was the junior attendant to the Homecoming Queen. She was escorted by Jack Sencenbaugh. Another popular member, Joyce May, was attendant to the Bamwarming Queen. She was escorted by Gene Campbell. Opal Armbruster was editor of the L. H. S. Highlights, which was published weekly for the first time. She had much help from Mr. Lucy English and the other members of the Highlights staff. This page sponsored by P. N. HIRSCH AND CO..
