You have given a shoulder on which to lean When the going was rough. You have given advice When we asked for it And sometimes even when we didn't. You have given praise when we deserved it And punishment when we needed it. You have tried to be understanding and fair in all things, And you have taught us to do the same. You have helped set the standards That will guide us the rest of our lives. Now we're reaching adulthood, And soon we'll be leaving. But wherever we go, These wonderful memories of you will be with us . . . Through the years.
