In 1968 the Hornets won over Weimar for Bi-District honors and in the Regional Tournament in Victoria won the Region IV Championship, winning over Magnolia and Yorktown. Advancing to the State Tournament, the Hornets won the Semi-finals over Italy. In the State Finals the Hornets lost to Aspermont by a score of 50 to 52.
