Perhaps your reaction, as you turn the pages of this annual, both now and in the future, will, in a manner, measure your success as a student, and the success of the school so far as you are individually concerned. If you are reminded of your many friends, you have probably been friendly; if you are reminded of the success of some organization, you probably helped to make it successful; if you remember some great team effort, you probably put forth a great effort in either play or support; if you are reminded of those who were helpful, you prob- ably helped others. If this annual stirs pleasant memories, you prob- ably have the true school spirit, which is to be willing to put forth continuous effort to make your school better. We are grateful to the Senior Class for this 1960 Annual. It repre- sents a hard job well done. Our best wishes and kindest personal re- gards to the class of 1960. Sincerely yours. W ayne Jones Superintendent

The men who came to America in search of freedom realized that in education lay the power needed to fight oppression and strife. As this country progressed, the need for education for all became more pro- nounced, for here was an experiment in the eyes of the worlu where people ruled themselves. In order for people to be wise in matters of what is just and good for all. they must be taught the importance of each in a free society. To make this a better place for all to live, each must learn to do his share, to contribute his time and wealth, to help those in need, to denounce that which is wrong, to build, and to progress. By privilege we have these things, and by knowledge, work, and wis- dom we will be able to keep these things. Sincerely yours, John N. Strnadel
