Hungerford, better known as Barber Jack. ” LOUISE HIGH SCHOOL ALMA MATER Words By Carol Marek, Alice Sablatura, Donna Thomas, Sue Tyson Louise, the school we love so true; We sing our praises all to you. Mighty hearts are all aflame; Our fighting spirit we'll never tame. Gold and Blue we'll always love; Our Hornet's name will stand above Leading us through every year, Old L. H. S. we love so dear After many close shaves in the land of the Mon- tezumas, Hungerford stacked his arms and began wielding his razor again, this time in fabulous San Francisco. In that faraway city his employer was George W. Caprico, or Dago George as he was better known. DEDICATION JOHN NORBERT STRNADEL Before the first year of your being our High School Principal passes by, we wish to thank you for your efforts in our behalf. We wish you to know that we respect your ability, appreciate your kind- ness, admire your character, and value your friendship. We know that we have many times given you cause to doubt the truth of this statement; that we have frequently tried your patience almost to the breaking point. But you were a boy once, yourself, and can understand that we do not really mean one-half the thoughtless things we say and do. We hope that you will accept this dedication of the 1955 Annual as a token of our respect and esteem for you. With it go our warmest wishes for your health and happiness. And may the future prove that your labors in Louise School have not been in vain. The party, therefore, put to sea, and as the girls had acquired fluent use of the Italian language, the Mackay-Hungerford party made port in Italy. 1 Louise, the Bonanza queen, became the talk of European society at the Riviera. It was christened the New York, Texas, and Mexican Railway Company. Then six hundred Italian laborers swarmed in the picks, shovels, and spike mauls. Rail laying began at both Victoria and Rosenberg, working toward the middle. Local Texans observed the chief diet of the Italian construction workers and dubbed the railroad “the Macaroni. Town naming soon came up on Count Telferner’s agenda. “Yes, my family must live in perpetuity,” he said and stations were given these names: T elferner, Mackay, Hungerford, Louise, and Edna. e member i tig Vie VS op irkc Lo i ie Scene i 5 BBW ij if‘t % if %? It is an appropriate time, therefore, for those of us who have produced and supervised THE 1955 HORNET to say heartfelt thanks to our “educational partners,” these advertisers who have bought space primarily to manifest interest in those things that promote the welfare of students of Louise High School.
