May I take this opportunity to point out that the good things ac- complished in school spring from fine relationships and co-operation of faculty, students, and patrons of the community. Many thanks to all who have worked so hard to make our school better. To you I am greatly indebted. Sincerely, Dedication We, the annual staff, dedicate this yearbook, 1952 HORNET, to the School Board, past and present and the Parent Teachers Association. We thank you for all the kind things you have done for us, and we are usingthis means to say, Tha nk You. We appreci- ate it so very much. Thank you again. To the Seniors and students of Louise High School: I am going to take this opportunity to tell you that I like you. I am also going to tell you why I do. I like you because you are friendly—I came to you, a stranger, and you took me into your house. I like you because you are cheerful—I see your smiles every day. I like you because of your spirit—you are deter- mined in what you do. I like you because of your sportsmanship—you have had your share of losses and disappointments, still you can laugh. I like you for your honesty and truthfulness- I know about these; I have found them more often than their opposites. I like you because you are able to work together— you have done swell jobs when many have helped. I like you because you are ambitious—you are eager in all that you do. I like you because you are willing to challenge— I know that you can fight for those things that are dear to you. I like you because you are anxious to live and be happy—your twinkling eyes prove this to me. I like you for many reasons—mentioning last that I think you like me. The district competition was much stronger than in previous years, and the HORNETS lost their first district game in three years. They ended with a 7 win and 1 loss record. In non-district competition, LOUISE played the outstanding teams of the area including several class A and AA teams. Their season record was 21 wins and 12 losses. In the Regional Meet at Kingsville the Blue and Gold cagers defeated El Jar din 58-39, lost to Woodsboro in the semi-finals 33-30 and then went on to defeat Tulloso-Midway (Corpus Christi) 60-34 for third place honors. The HORNETS were paced by Buzzy Keith and Gus Vajdos in the scoring de- partment. Bill Nolen, All South Texas guard, Walter Hanson and Morris Orsak rounded out the first five. Keith was also selected on the All South Texas team at the center position. Wilbur Bacak and Alfred Kocurek were the first line re- serves. We are looking forward to a successful season next year as three of our first five boys will be back. FOR FARMS TO RENT SEE H.P. Slockion Co. I N LOUISE, TEXAS PHONE 17 P. 0.
