State High School Championship. The humanistic a A side of the story is that lessie ran this race with a lot of pride and determination and pain. Even lessie didn't know that she had torn cartilage in her knee that would require surgery later on. lessie is still reaching to fulfill that dream of being the state champion, but she is just as concerned to help and see her teammates in the finals, too.
