TO THE STUDENT: Your year— 1958-1959. Many mem- ories will come to you whenever you think of these months you have spent at Louisburg College. You will remember so many little things and special events which have made this year meaningful: Home- coming—May Day— the socials— bridge parties in the Little Parlor — hours spent socializing on the front steps or in the Soda Shop — our special friends and the problems you shared. You will value these memories more and more as you realize the escape of time. ' e present this, the 1958- 1959 yearbook, with the hope that through the medium of photographs and words we have captured for you some of these memories, and that within the pages of this book you will find mirrored— vour vear. There are persons so radiant, so genial, so kind, so pleasure bearing, that you instinctively feel in their pres- ence that they have done you good. As members of our Friendship Circle, which is one of the focal points of religious interest in our school, you have come to realize more fully the tremen- dous challenge involved in the field of religious work today. Upon you, many of whom have already accepted full time religious work as your chosen field, will rest much of the responsibility of determining the strength of the Church tomor- row. During your regular meetings, your retreats, and your other activities, each of you has made many friends who you will value deeply as you face these responsibilities of your field in the years to come. c OUISBURG c OLLEGE Ptige Thirty-Two sSuppLy t ciAtorA (it First Row, Left to Right: Mr. Goldston, Advisor; Henry MacFarlane, David Jones, Lionel Swink, Ray West. On Tuesday, ' eclnesday, and Thursday you have attended college to take your full schedule of classes. On Thursday when your class week ends, you have returned to }our families and churches, sometimes as far away as 175 miles. Many of you, along with your college work, are in charge of not one, but two, or even three churches. . . . No, it hasn ' t been easy . . . e.xams and term papers have conflicted with revivals and funerals, and at times you have wondered if it is all worthwhile— this business of being a college student and a minister at the same time. And then you find yourself using an insight you gained on class to show a searching high school student that God is a good God, and you know that it has been very worthwhile.
