SENIOR C LASS OFFICERS if all rf' to Nathalie Richardson, Treasurerg Joy Fleshman, Presidenrg Helen Polls, Secretaryg Lance Duke, Vice-presidentg Mrs, Bumpass, Sponsor, CLHSS HISTUHU Hail to Louisa the school we love best --how well l remember the first time I heard this song which has come to mean so much to me. With shining eagerfaces we entered Louisa County High School. At last we were freshmen and a part of this strange new building. ln our freshman year we became acquainted with the high school. With the friendly help of Mrs. Layman and ourother freshman sponsors, we made many friends and ioined the freshman ac- tivities which consisted of the choir and newspaper club. And then Junel Just thinkl We were sopho- mores . No longer were our activities Iimited. Now it was our turn to laugh at the awkward mistakes mode by the freshmen, iust as we had been laughed at before. This year passed remarkably fast, and after what seemed an unusually long summer, we re- turned to school as iolly juniors. Bus something was missing. Our beloved principal Mr. Long had fdken another iob. Though we missed him, we found in Mr. Pope, his successor, a sympathetic understanding friend who has always guided, ad- vised and tolerated us with his familiar gentle smile. Now the day of days--we were seniors. Shall we ever forget our senior play The Showboat Minstrel? Shall we forget Mrs. Bumpass our much loved senior sponsor who boosted our morale when we were in the dumps? l think not. Nor shall we forget our homecoming dance, our first successful football team and our Junior-Senior Prom. Our annual, too, was a thing of ioy. lts production was a fight to the finish, but allin all, it was something of which we are all proud. Yes, this has indeed been a happy phase of our lives. Through this school we've had our good and bad times, we've laughed and cried, and fought for our rights. All too soon came ourgrad- uation. Now we're on our own. We're not aclass who can work together. We'll have to fight our battles individually. Tears fill my eyes when l think of my many friends I'll be leaving--leaving in body but not in memory--each of us gone to take our places in this wide wide world. -Helen Polls
