In Honor of Mildred Tofell Mildred Tofell is an exceptional teacher and good teachers make a difference. The influence a teacher has on young minds is impossible to measure. A teacher affects eternity with no way to tell where the influence ends. The best teachers I have known have had serveral characteristics in common. They love what they are doing. They catalyze in youth a burning desire to know. They have a great expectation level for their students. They really care. Mrs. Tofell epitomizes these characteristics. She is a lady who had held the torch - the torch of wisdom which she held high to light the way for those to follow, the youth who were fortunate enough to have her as a teacher. When school opens next fall, there will be a void at Lost River High School, but Mrs. Tofell's impact and influence will continue with us for many years in the future. James B.
