The staff Wishes to thank, with most sincere appreciation, everyone who has in any Way contributed toward the making ofthis Annual. Especially do We wish to thank Miss Olive Reader and George Ford whose Willing assist- ance in the art work has rendered much to the appearance of this book. And now, if this little volume can bring back to your memory in later years, some happy thought, a pleasant reminiscence of your high school days or remind you of a former friend or friendship formed, We are glad to place it in your hands. RANDOLPH, Si-:stron Crass Svoivsok For many years Dr. Randolph has been located at lrost Creek as a dentist. He is .1 native of this community, is always interested in its welfare, and has done much toward its promotion, thereby gaining a place as one of the leading and most influential citizens of Lost Creek. He received his professional education at the University of Maryland, by which he was graduated from the Department of Dentistry. He is very efficient in his profession as shown hy the fact that many people came to him with work from rather distant parts of the state. Three years ago Dr. Randolph willingly accepted the sponsorship of the present Senior Class of Lost Creek High School. He has shown this class every favor and kindness possible during the past three years, and we consider ourselves fortunate indeed to have chosen such a man as our sponsor. This year he has shown ready willingness to assist in anyway that he could in the preparation of this Annual, and we wish to take this oppor- tunity, as a class, to express our appreciation for the kindness he has shown us, and to extend to him, as one for whom we hold very high esteem, our sincerest thanks. As Sopho- mores we were great. Mr. Wills was Class Advisor, and with his skill we presented a Stunt Night . We also won first place in the tourney and carried away several individual prizes. Ohl the Mighty juniors. Although small in number we were mighty and took a lead in all schcol activities. This year Miss Specs was Class Advisor. Last year we were given second place in the contest conducted by the interscholastic Press Association, the said contest being held annually in the states. ATHLETICS 535tivr:sr::'hifg:1 rzfeball 545 t1 'Y' j' ff,-at the influence of Coach Mathias and Mr. Moyers, a spirit leading to n baseball team was talked up. A sum of ten dollars was made up among th-e Q1 ql,7'ff4, boys to help pay for the equipment and the rent of the field. Until this ffbfyli' h ft h h b bbn B h- ,UK fy year, except t e season o 23, t ere as een no .ase a spirit. ut at t c N7-'Lexx' ' close of the basketball season the boys began to think about the prospects of dominant. a baseball team, and with the urging offered by Mr. Mathias a baseball spirit became Those who took interest in the beginning and had active part in it were Carroll Palmer, Rupert Collins, Truman Tolley, Leonidas Riley, Slater Crumrine, Rezin Hud- kins, Howard Post, Claude Davisson, Wendell Mathias, Robert Martin, Lores Morrison, Doy Neville, Frank Wiant, Newton Wiant, Milton Van Horn and Virgil Dawson. These boys removed the sod from the infield and used a heavy drag upon it. Bases were made and put on the field. Although all those boys do not play baseball they showed the proper spirit by helping do the work. This will be the second baseball team for Lost Creek High School. Following this work of getting the field in condition came the time to begin practice and to develop a team. Although but very few of the boys ever had any baseball ex- perience they rounded into shape. With a team lined up as follows-Morrison, pitcher, Palmer, catcher, Combs, first base, Mathias, short stop, Davisson, third base, Riley, left field, Collins, center field, Hudkins, right field, Crumrine, Post and Neville, substitutes -we should play a good game through the season. We joined the league consisting of the schools with teams in this section, and scheduled games with Sardis, Bridgeport, Roosevelt-Wilson, Lumberport and Weston, with a home game and one abroad with each team. This is a hard schedule for a team with inexperienced players, but the boys will show them what we are made of, and win or lose we are always game for another try. The boys are practicing hard and there is no friction anywhere except inexperience. And that difficulty is being overcome gradually. So here's to Lost Creek a successful baseball season. A record like this has nr-ver been had here before. 5 LICONIDAS RILICY Playing in the position of either guard or forward, Rilcy's ability was equal that of the regular player. He has earned his letter, and was the cause of Lost Creek being on the long end of the score at different times. DOY NICYILLH Neville, the running mate of Tolley, showgd class at the beginning of the season. His field goals from the side of the floor showed other teams that they were to be defeated. More than one guard found himself surprised when Neville dribbled through to the basket. GLICN WOLFIC Glen plays a game at center that is hard to beat. His style is to out-jump, out-run and out- shoot the other fellow. He goes into a game determined to win, and if he is beaten it is because he is out-played. ' HOLLAND CLFM The worth of Clem was invaluable, for at center he always got the tip off, and in a game always made his share of the points. In offense he was always to be found at the right place. Although this was his first year of basketball his smoothness as a player was noticeable. With his steady nerve and clever head work he has done much for his team. Although he graduates this year, and we will miss him, we are glad to see him carry on his work in athletics, and wizslt him good luck in his future years. TRUMAN 'l'OI,I,l'lY As captain of his ICLIID, Tolley showed rare ability in leading a team to victory.
