Sparking one of the most closely contested presidential elections ever held at Valley College, John Gustaf- son and Tony Sydes battled through sharp campaigning to see Gustafson take the post by a slight 64-vote mar- gin. The Executive Council hit a legis- lative rock at the beginning of the semester with budget problems, result- ing in a severe cut to entertainment expenses for the semester. A semes- terly plan called for a closer associa- tion between Executive Council and lOC, with several ioint meetings scheduled between the groups. Stu- dent body conventions highlighted the outside activities for the council and spread the name of Valley throughout the state. .. -I f T ,-11 A1 my I Y Q-,I--sv 13- J! l , , . l 1-, - gI 'f-TIZ'. !'h- l If I ' 'HS I-'11 I II .
