J, m in Id tra tors The most exciting thing about being president of a college is the opportunity to work with people. Getting to know people by sharing theirexperiences, working with them in solving problems, and enjoy- ing with them their successes is the great reward for the long hours of work required of the chief administrative officer of a college. Typically, the day of a college president may be best described as a parade — a parade of people whom he meets as individuals and as groups. There are the members of the administrative staff and faculty concerned with budgets, buildings, instruc- tion and other problems of managing a college; there are the students and their leaders, civic lead- ers and community groups interested in the educa- tional activities of the college. Meeting and confer- ring fill my days as President of Los Angeles State College. It is a happy and satisfying way of life. Howard S. McDonald Asael C. Lambert — Vice President Albert D. Graves — Dean of the College 24
