At the start of this deployment cycle, there were huge hurdles to leap, with an untested crew - all of us. With the effort of every member of the LA Team and many who transferred prior to the completion of the deployment, we took our 'classicn 30 year- old submarine from the shipyard to the Western Pacific in only nine months, and very successfully executed one of the most demanding missions in the Submarine Force. That didn't happen through purely good fortune or lucky timing, this ship succeeded through the dedicated efforts of every man onboard and the incredible support of the families that took care of things at home, and awaited our joyous return. I am incredibly proud of your service, each one of you. You have all accomplished things that relatively few men will ever do and you have done them exceedingly well. The record is perfectly clear for USS Los Angeles in 2007: Battle Efficiency MEN, Engineering MEN, Navigation MNH, Supply 'EH, and the CSS-l Naval Special Warfare Award. What makes this even more remarkable is that at the time of return from deployment, the ship had been underway for ten of the previous twelve months and was still recognized with the COMPACFLT Retention Excellence Award for 2007. The nFirst and Finestn was exactly that. Bravo Zulu, LA Warriors and.Mhhalo, LA Ohana! Sin - A--- A ., S 'S .,., E A A.
