The Christian school adds the plus to character building which gives emotional stability and spiritual poise to the individual as he comes to Christian certainty and progresses in expe- rience. Los Angeles Pacific College has a high standard of scholarship, and with it a high standard of spiritual living and Christian experience. The lives of the individuals whose pictures appear on these pages demonstrate to others the standards of their Alma Mater. C. DORR DEMARAY P1'L'J'i6fL'lll UBOARD OF TRUSTEES.. ly! mu'-B. Competition between the Spartans and Athenians is keener than ever this year, with each side feeling it is the most successful. Wliether a Spartan or an Athenian, everyone has to ad- mit that some fine chapel programs and sport events have been sponsored by both societies. As the Yucca goes to press it cannot be foretold which society will be the victor and win the Spartan-Athenian trophy for 1946-1947. I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, not yet favour to men of skillg but time and chance happeneth to them all. Smith, Warren, Roush 2nd row-Hoover, Niece, White, Rohrer, McCormick, McDonald, Malin, McClelland The Los Angeles Pacific College basketball team went through a highly successful season this year. The Panther casabamen tied for first place in the Southern California Christian College League with only one loss. In the three year history of this league, the LAPC team has-never finished lower than second place. - The team was rather slow intstarting this year, but soon developed a high powered scoring machine. This was proved by the practice games with the Y.M.C.A. The Y took the first three games by a small margin. In the last two games the Panthers swamped the same Y team by very large scores. The Panthers played host to the Seattle Pacific College team this season, thus renewing the rivalry started last year when LAPC invaded Seattle. Al- though the Seattle Pacific Falcons were far more experienced, the scrappy Panther five proved that they were not to be beaten easily. Seattle won both games to take a 5-1 lead in the series. In these and all other games this season, good sportsmanship was a large factor in keeping the team operating smoothly. USNAPPY PATCHES . .. 'Ay ,nf lf- M' 'xf :71 jane . . . Noon campus . . .
