His cheery smile, with the rest of his 'fine person- ality, won him the position he so ably filled. His humbleness, faithfulness, and willingness made him the popular leader that he was. He did not push himself forward, nor did he neglect any line, but was always found ready, will- ing, and able at his post of duty. One of the high-lights of the year was the initiation of the Frosh into the higher schools of learning, and this was climaxed by a party given at the beautiful and interesting home of one of our day students. This party Was followed by many such enjoyable social gatherings, all of which were ably chaperoned by our class advisor, Dean Davis, who takes a great interest in the sophomore class. Perhaps the most interesting experience of this class occurred on the annual skip, when eighteen sophomores left, amid pouring rain, for the snow-clad section of Big Pines. Due to a cloudburst in the moun- tains they Were forced back to San Bernardino. l-lere they were trapped in the raging flood Waters and consequently had the pleasure of being refugees for two 'extra days and nights. At least, they think they had the most original and unique skip days in all school history. -,v .Tn - . - .,.,,1...,l-, .. .N - V , . . . ,,.-4.u4,:': g if ' I 1' S31 ,..., 'ful in elk 15 l 2'Ef1l'i5ggV 3:1 A A A --f- -'---, ' -AW ---. . .1 y. GERTRUDE ARCHER MRS. MARGARET GREEN PROP. H. S. STEWART Hymnology Bible Folk Lore Greek Teaching Methods in Religion Archaeology ibfe offeqe After completing our third year of Bible College at Los Angeles Pacific College, we more clearly realize the purpose and importance of such an organization. Our standards are high, and therefore recognized by other accredited colleges. The Bible, coming to us as the inspired word of God and miraculously preserved through the ages, is our specific guide. Our one desire is that each student may come to a saving knowledge and experience the keeping power of Christ as his Lord and Savior. In II Timothy 2:15 we read, Study to show thyself approved unto God, a work- man that needeth not to be ashamed,- . We must have an intelligent understand- ing ofthe Bible if we are to live a truly successful Christian life. But this is not all-We are planning toward lives of effective Christian Service. Keeping this thought in mind, and with consecrated instructors to encourage and help us, we press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Iesusf' ilzisferiaf Gfssocivzfiolz The Ministerial Association has had one ot its most successful years. Under the lead- ership of Clarence Soderberg, the Association has been a blessing to the school, and has accomplished much for the Lord. A Week's revival at the Free Methodist Third Church and Sunday services in the Southern California conference have been held. Every other Tuesday night, the Ministerial group has held the mission service at the Ebey Memorial. Free Methodist Church. During the second semester the Ministerial Association had charge of the Tuesday morning chapel services. The young men of the group, who plan to become ministers, spoke in these services, which were a blessing to all that attended. ASHCRAFT REVIVAL The Ashcraft Revival Band, -consisting of all the Christian students, feels that it has ac- complished much this year. A group has gone each Sunday to the County Hospital to visit the patients, giving them scripture verses on attractive cards and speaking to them concerning their spiritual condition. Another division of our Work is the noonday prayer meeting from Which rnany have received spiritual uplift. Students are appointed each day to take charge of these meetings. l , '-:4:g::ix'f5 ,,l1-5' ' L-,in ' , f f f:,-,-, ' Under the direction of Virgil Haley the religi- ous organizations have enjoyed a glorious year in the Lord.
