Over a special closed cir- cuit, Channel S'55 portrays in pictures and words all the happy memories of a wonderful school year at Los Angeles High School. The magic eye of the Television camera recaptures again those Thrilling moments when the Roman football team fought its way to the city football finals. A shot of the rooting section flashes on the TV screen, then the camera pans up to the main building and watches L.A.'s student body officers and organiza- tions in action. Not forgotten by the television lens are Rome's myriad activities - its plays, its dances, its musical shows, its assemblies. Then, shining in the spotlight are the mighty Senior Ayes, making their final appearance in an I..A, High production. The R.O.T.C., the faculty, our girls' sports program - all are brought to you by the miracle of TV. And now the S55 Annual staff says, QuietI Stand by IO seconds! Ready, theme, and announce! Let the TV tour commence! P ' -,- :Lx 'Q 5' U 'I X ,mix aff ,1 wtf, - , . ,Z Ivy, K Q .' . E. .. Q ' W - . ,WM BLUE AND1 ANNUAL i E I , fy fifaffffu A gf 9 H I l , 5 if' 1 W 4. I , 'fl A . Bas- ketwise, the Romans were usually sparked by center Gene Freeman, who set a Western League sopho- more scoring standard of 28 points against league runner-up Dorsey. Jimmy Bratton led the locals' de- fensive efforts, while most valu- able player Ed Johnson displayed fine rebounding talents to lead in that department. Captain Ed Padel- ford was the ball-control specialist, and set up Roman scores on numer- ous occasions. The highlight of on otherwise lean season was the 55- 51 victory over Dorsey. The Romans were also led on occasion by iurnp- shot specialists Steve Salkin and Tom Walver and the sharp set- shots of Harry Bledstein. With nearly all of last season's squad returning, the Blue and White clad Pioneers will be out to surprise a lot of teams in the Southern League. W 721121. k X!
