Since that time the membership has increased steadily and now includes members as far afield as New Zealand, Sweden, Argentina and South America. The aims of the fraternity are to further chiropractic and improve the quality of profes- sional education. lt is a democratic organization whose members are chosen with regard for scholastic ability, character and integrity. The social program includes picnics, banquets, and dances for the members and their families. The educational and more serious side of the fra- ternity's functions include guest speakers from the field at the regular meetings. The fraternity has among its membership several doctors of national prominence includ- ing the late Dr. Ralph W. Stewart for whom the American Legion Post No. 636 was named. A charter was received and the organization became a regu- lar feature of the extra-curricular activities of the college. Since that time the chapter has re- quested and been granted a charter in the National Chiropractic Assoclation, the chapter being named in honor of Dr. Wilma Churchill. The Student Unit emulates the parent organizations in its aims to protect and foster the philosophy, science and art of chiropractic, to insure the profession proper recognition, to ald ln the Chiropractic Research Foundation, and to raise the educational standards of the colleges. , The keynote of the unit is organization, stressing the need for unity among the profes- sion and encouraging a high standard of professional conduct and ethics. The monthly meetings of the chapter are essentially of an educational nature, featuring field speakers, demonstrations and educational moving pictures. ln addition to regular business, problems of the school, organization and students are discussed. The result of this type of orga- nizatlon is to send forth a student into the field that ls prepared to assume organlzatlonal work and who will have a working knowledge of the state and national organizational functions.
