The Able, or Auxiliary Repair Division consists of four difterent work gangs. Steam heat is an A Division problem. lts equipment heat the water tor showers. The same gang is in charge of maintenance of the anchor windless and after steering engines. The Internal Combustion crew keeps the engines of the motor launches in top shape. It is also responsible for maintenance and operation ot the forward and after emergency diesel engines. ln the machine shop the crew fixes and patches many varieties of the ship's equipment, very otten they seem to do the impos- sible. Finally the Refrigeration gang's tireless ettorts are enioyed throughout the ship in the form of a long cold drink from one of the numerous scuttlebutts on a hot day, or that good old Gedunk in the evening.
