One of the newest additions to the Los Angeles' organization is the OL Division, the eyes of the ship . The lookout division plays an important part in the safety of the ship. lts men must recognize and be on the alert for aircraft, ships, floating mines, and obstacles that would menace navigation and endanger the ship. They can usually be found in Sky Forward and in Sky Aft. When fog or bad weather rolls in, however, they are posted from truck to forecastle. The ship's photographers are also a part of the Ol. Division. They take all the official photographs for the ship, print, develop and keep files on their work. Many long hours were required from them during the production of this cruise book, and their work may be seen throughout.
