The Girls' Athletic Association, part of the nation wide Girls' Athletic League, is an organ- ization open to all girls who maintain a C aver- age. Its goal is to provide recreation for en- joyment as well as teaching co-operation, con- fidence, and skill. The G. A. A. at Los Altos High has success- fully taken part in several swim meets and par- ticipated in sports days with other schools in this area, including a volleyball day and a badminton tournament. Each day of the week girls from all four classes meet after school in the gym, on the courts, and on the field to compete in volley- ball, basketball, hockey, softball, modern dance and tumbling. The annual G. A. A.-sponsored Twirp Day and dance is a high spot on the spring social calendar as is the awards banquet.
