Home Economics Interior Decorating was one ofthe new courses added to the overall courses offered in the Home Economics Department, This class also saw more boys enroll in this subject than in any others in the department. Sherri Stevens won the local Homemaker Award for Los Alamos and went on to place second in state. This award is presented annually to a home economics student. The highlight of the year for the entire department was the fashion show held on May 18. At this time all clothing stu- dents model the fashions they made throughout the year. MR. SHELDON KALBERG - Chorus, University of New Nlexico, Albuquerque, New Nlexico. ,W The flute section, an integral part ofthe band, provides melodious harmony for a well balanced effect. 'L n 0 Ll 6, Nluch enthusiasm is displayed by members ofthe choir. , I Q The quality of the Ivlusic Department continually grew throughout the 1966-67 school year. This year also saw two new members join this department: Mr. Mcllonald teaching band and Mr. Kalberg who directs the Choir. The band made a good showing at the State Fair in Albu- querque, as well as at several out of town games. This year the band also had a concert with the well known Doc Severinson. The orchestra also had a very good year. They traveled to Colorado Springs where they performed at one of the finer hotels in town. The Choir is not to be left out, they went to Portales for the Annual State Competition. Throughout the year, the band, orchestra, and choir held numerous number of concerts during which they performed very well. 27 Academic
