Miss Standridge took over sponsorship of the annual while Miss Parker took control ofthe school news- paper. Mr. Young still played an im- portant part in all three areas of this department as photography supervisor and teacher ofjournalism. K Thejournalism class took their usual trip to a newspaper and television plant in Albuquerque to see in actuality what they had been studying. The Lookout wasn't able to publish as many issues ofthe newspaper as they had expected due to difficulties in the printing of copy. The yearbook, how- ever, increased from 224 pages to 232. Is this the true expression of someone anxiously awaiting to be served in a restaurant? Patty Krieger portrays the pose as such. Grant Godbolt illustrates an important point in his speech. Speech Ujhs Many Classes This year the Speech Department continued to offer its wide variety of courses from basic speech to drama and debate. The curriculum starts with the simple basic elements of speech and progresses step by step to harder courses such as oral interpretation and debate. Each speech student is encouraged to convey his own ideas in different ways so that he may become a more interesting speaker. Speech students are also prospective members of the Hilltalkers Club which is composed of members who wish to partici- pate in competitive debate.
