Besides the guides who helped new students to familiar- ize themselves with lhe campus, upperclass girls were appointed liHle sisters among the new girls, and helped them get acquainted. ' A big and little sister lea was given to lur- ther friendship among the new girls. A tea for the mothers of each individual class was held so that teachers and parents could know each other better. The mother and daughter banquet was held March I3, with a sports mo- tii. The hoslesses for each fable decorated il to represent a sport, and the head table was typified by an Olympic emblem. 0 The Lea- gue collected food and toys for the needy at Chrislmas time and divided them among vari- ous welfare organizations for distribution. Funds were raised by selling pompoms during the football season: candy wrapper week , when +he League was paid one cent for every candy wrapper it collec+edp and by selling home-made candy al the plays. 0 The Chaf- ley Girls' League cooperates with the other leagues in Southern California. The delegales who attended the fall convention in San Diego, October I5 and lb, were Midge Johns, president: and Barbara Phibbs, pro gram chairman. Also among the class activities were the play. Growing Pains , enjoyable comedy of adol- esence, the Senior Mothers' Tea, and the Water Carnival in the new pool. 0 The series of informal dances, was a great success and promises to become a custom. Handicapped by the condemning of the auditorium, the senior play. Growing Pains overcame its difficulties to maintain the senior play tradi- tion. 0 The red sweaters aroused much com- ment and no little surprise, but were generally popular and certainly unmistakably distin- guished a senior from all other creatures. 0 In athletics of all kinds. members of the Class of '36 have taken active leadership and have lead Chaffey teams to many victories.
