KA TH Y MA CKA Y, SENIOR 4 Opening Griffin pride shines through at a football game. Allyson Glines dances the night away at the semi-formal dance. Cliff Kjoss shares a Coke and a smile with his friends. FUEL FOR THE WEEKE D After a very hectic week, from out of nowhere, it hit everyone: the weekend. Friday nights started the weekends with a splash. People filled the stadium to watch their favorite-team become Empire League Champs. Others took out their special so- meone to see a popular movie such as Top Gun. By 12:00 AM. everyone could be found getting a burrito at Taco Bell or just hanging out at a local frozen yogurt place. Saturday morning often provided an ex- cellent weekend activity: Skimming over the snow-carpeted slopes at Snow Summit. Big Bear made some improvements this year and the slopes opened earlier than ever. Financing a downhill ski trip was sometimes a problem, but real snow cats somehow found the dough to go. l -. i i i i i i fi lla .i Yet weekends weren't weekends without the famous Los Al parties. This was a good time to catch up on the latest gossip and talk to those long lost friends not usually seen around campus. Weekends weren't always a time to relax and have fun. There were the compulsory chores, chores, and more chores. There was always the lawn to mow, the car to wash, and the pig sty to be made a room again. The ''wait-till-the-last-minute'' person could be found Sunday night beginning the term paper due Monday morning. Whether skiing, surfing, partying, or working, frustrated students flushed a week of school out of their systems with close friends.
