Los Al Tradition Under the Sun he Vigilantes were a new club here at Los Al composed of eight seniors and one junior, all on the wrestling team. They enjoyed the wrestling season, and in their spare time, liked to party. The of- ficers were: President - John Morgan, Vice-President - Glenn Barrett, Secretary - Alex Pulone, and Treasurer - Lenny Fontanez. Yvonka '87 was also a new club on the Los Al campus. lt con- sisted of eight seniors, all of whom put the senior section of this yeare book together. Throughout the year they worked hard and tried their best to relieve the notorious deadline stress put upon them. They were advised by Mrs. Arney, the yearbook advisor, and led by officers Michelle Overbeek, Kirsten Shaw, Maria Puente, and Robin Lindley. Spirit Groups Reflect Griffin Pride eniority Sorority, led by Wendy Poe and Alison King and advised by Coach Van Gorder, consisted of twenty-six senior girls. They represented the school spirit of Los Al and planned to make their senior year the very best it could be. This goal was attained by the attendance of football games, basketball games, and ,wrestling matches. The girls supported the teams and cheered them on to victory. The Tent Club, founded in October of 1985, was composed of seven band members. The club promoted fun and enter- tainment at all band and school functions. They dressed in Blues Brothers garb consisting of black coats and ties, white shirts and socks, Converse high tops, and RayBans - not to mention that they were also devoted worshippers of Steve Martin. Together with advisor, Chuck Wackerman, they took the campus by storm. Jared Johnson, a member of the Tent Club, entertains the crowd at a football game. Tent Club: Kirk Saylin a.k.a. Talent Abounds at Los Al he Los Alamitos Art Club was made up of several ambitious and creative students interested in art. These students enjoyed spending time doing work for competitive art contests and also like to visit art museums and exhibitions, adding to their sense of well-rounded culture. The Art Club was led by: President - Mark Medina, Vice- President - Kai Ponte, and Secretary - Susan Elston. Under the instruction of Ms. Fleming, the Dance Club has had its fourth consecutive year. The club originated in the spring of 1983, and has been ever popular since. The thirty girls enjoyed dancing in their spare time and also rehearsing for the annual Drill Team Spring Show. The Dance Club leaders were: President - Michelle McLinden, Vice-President - Kelli Matheny, and Secretary-Treasurer - Christi Wenevic.
