EDDI G 20 VQAQS I ON YOUR OWN In twenty years, I hope to be healthy, wealthy, and wise, JOAN BURTSELL, SOPHOM ORE 12 Opening TIES THE KNOT One of the most unique classes on our campus is the On Your Own elective. The focus of this class is the future lives of the students. They are assumed to be at the age of complete independence. They may choose to get married or to have a roommate. This whole process is to prepare the students for the real life which lies ahead. The highlight of this one-semester class is the mock wedding. During this time, three couples exchange vows and have a special reception. The brides and grooms first semester were Deanna Blythe and David Combs, Jennifer Swanson and Darren Scott, and Allison King and Tom Williamson. A piano player, a singer, flowers, and many families and friends set the atmosphere at this traditional outdoor ceremony. Allison King and Tom William- son exchange wedding vows at the mock ceremony.
