A... GRIFFIN CELEBRATION BEGINS AS MANY NEW GUESTS ARRIVE lt's time to celebrate! Los Al's student body has carried on another powerful, productive year of tradition. Not only did the student body provide Los Al with support, but also with a new experience for first-time ad- ministrators. lt was a first for Los Al with Mrs. Carol Hart as the new Principal. Mr. Tom Anthony, a veteran of Los Al, also experienced on exciting new challenge as he ac- cepted the position of Associate Principal. Mr. Kelly God- frey, another new faculty member at Los Al, has put forth time and effort fulfilling his role as the Assistant Principal of Activities. More than ever, Los Al felt a spectacular sensation of school spirit among the students and faculty members. The development of the new Performing Arts Center showed the tremendous effort that was made. Plays and choral concerts performed at the center displayed the ambitious, loyal support of those who attended the pro- grams. Throughout the 1986 school year, undying school spirit sparkled from the student body. Charisma is truly a trait possessed by the energetic Los Alamitos students. The assiduous perserverence was prominent in the par- ticipation of Spirit Week activities and athletic competitions. l 0 ffl Pep assemblies are o large part of the spirit program at Los Al. Creativity takes its course when the football team decorates a bottle of sparkling apple cider for Homecoming. Grlfflns give support by waving their pom-pons frantically. Kerry Kyle and Stacie Foster are both members of active spirit groups. The Griffin Mascots provide the audience with never-ending entertainment. Homecoming is an event the Grlfflns find especially exciting and feel it necessary to dress formally. On this memorable evening, the football team plays against 2 Qpeni,-,Q Esperanza and earns their sixth victory.

GLORIOUS CHEERS OF VICTORY COVER GRIFFIN GRANDSTAND Victorious were the Griffins of 1985 and 1986! Los Al sports collaborated and together provided the community and the student body with excitement, suspense, and most of all, entertainment. Los Al has always been able to draw a crowd, but this year they were able to pack them in! Whether at home or away, sports was the center of atten- tion. The team members helped boost spirits and inspired their audiences everywhere. Every spectator at a game left with a feeling of satisfaction and a desire to go out and get into shape. The Spirit Stick was a motivation tool that the Los Al cheerleaders put into action. The stick was given to the best supporters and the loudestt yellers at the game. Armed with pom-pons, signs, and cue cards, students and parents had equal chances to win the stick. There was no giving up on the Los Al side, and the fighting Griffins of 1985-86 were better than ever. vs F -'ii l l k lJ ,ffi . ,f X I J lift . ...ill t x 4 Opening it br- f--, ,ffv 'l ' stiff f iF 1 .f..M. . ----s.,c sa., The Varsity football players, dressed in their red and blue jerseys, lift captain Gerry LeDoux.
